Campaign SA051 - Main Power Window Switch Replacement

SUBJECT: SERVICE ACTION: SOUL POWER WINDOW MAIN SWITCH ASSEMBLY REPLACEMENT (SA051)

This bulletin provides information relating to some Soul vehicles produced from June 09, 2010 to July 29, 2010 and in which the power window main switch on the drivers side may not operate properly. The power circuit on the PCB of the power window main switch may be damaged due to a voltage surge. For all vehicles included in the list of affected VINs replace the power window main switch assembly with the new updated part following the Service Procedure outlined below.





NOTICE
A Service Action is a repair program without customer notification that is performed during the warranty period. Any dealer requesting to perform this repair outside the warranty period will require DPSM approval.

Repair status for a VIN is provided on WebDCS (Service > Warranty Coverage > Warranty Coverage Inquiry > Campaign Information). Not completed Recall/Service Action reports are available on WebDCS (Consumer Affairs > Not Completed Recall > Recall VIN > Select Report), which includes a list of affected vehicles.

This issue number is SA051.

Service Procedure:

1. Verify that the vehicle is included in the list of affected VINs.





Remove the rear view mirror inner cover (A).

Remove the five (5) door trim mounting screw caps and screws (B).

CAUTION
Make sure to conduct the procedure with the ignition key in the OFF position.





2. Remove the front door inside handle housing (C).

CAUTION
Be careful not to damage, scratch or contaminate the door trim panel while performing this procedure.





3. Separate the door trim from the door panel, beginning with the lower section first.





4. Disconnect the door trim wiring connector (D), and remove the door trim from the door panel.





5. Remove the seventeen (17) door grip mounting screws as indicated in the photo.





6. Carefully remove the door grip (E), from the door trim as shown in the photo.





7. Remove the three (3) power window main switch assembly mounting screws as indicated in the photo; then remove the power window main switch (F) from the door grip.





8. Install the new power window main switch (C) to the existing door grip and then reinstall the removed components in reverse order of removal.

CAUTION
When connecting wiring connectors, verify that the confirmation "click" sound is heard for secure connection.

Operate all power window switches several times to ensure normal operation.
