SERVICE ACTION: STEERING SHAFT INSPECTION PROCEDURE (5AU57)

This Service Action provides information and instructions related to inspecting a Steering Shaft Universal Joint on certain 2010 Soul models built from March 29, 2010 to April 5, 2010.

This Service Action is in response to an inquiry by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) involving decoupling of the Universal joint in one vehicle.

To determine if the potential for decoupling or other steering shaft universal joint problems may exist in other Soul vehicles, Kia is making an inspection procedure available as outlined in this bulletin

As part of this procedure, an inspection sheet must be filled out for each affected and inspected vehicle See sample on the last page of this TSB You may also download the inspection sheet from the Publication/PDI and Evaluation Materials section of KGIS.
