Campaign SA 037 - Fuel Filler Cap Replacement

GROUP FUEL

NUMBER 021

MODEL 2010MY SOUL [AM]

DATE APRIL 2010

SUBJECT
COMBINED TSB / SERVICE ACTION: SOUL (AM) FUEL FILLER CAP REPLACEMENT (SA 037)

This bulletin provides information related to some 2010MY Soul (AM) vehicles produced from January 8, 2009 to July 31, 2009. An improved fuel cap is available with a larger handle design for improved feel during tightening, and a full thread stop which provides one click during tightening instead of several clicks as from the previous fuel cap design. Kia is requesting the replacement of fuel caps on all affected Soul (AM) vehicles to improve customer satisfaction.

To improve customer satisfaction, Kia is requesting the completion of this Service Action on all affected 2010 Soul (AM) vehicles. Before installing the new improved fuel cap, check the existing fuel cap to see if it's the updated design; if the vehicle already has the latest fuel cap design, no further action is required. For vehicles not on the Affected Vehicles List, but with a customer concern; perform the following procedure outlined in this bulletin and submit a warranty claim per "customer concern" (Standard TSB) claim information below.
