Description





The purpose of this service bulletin is to provide technical information concerning the removal of the A/C vents in 2010MY Soul or Forte vehicles, utilizing the air Vent Remover Tool (09840-1M100) shown above. Separate instructions are provided for the Soul side, Soul center vents, and the Forte side vents and Forte center vents.

Service Procedure

SOUL - Side Vent Removal

1. Remove the round speaker cover.

2. Remove the Philip screw.





3. Insert the Air Vent Remover (09840-1M100) into the air vent as marked. Note the circles indicating the best areas in which to insert the tool to remove the vent. The tool should be inserted toward the outward side of the vent. The tool should be placed between the far outside vertical vent and the link for the horizontal vents.

4. Once inserted, the Air Vent Remover tool (09840-1M100) should grasp the rear of the vent as indicated, allowing you to remove the vent by pulling.

5. With the Air Vent Remover tool properly secured to the rear of the vent, pull on the handle along a horizontal angle. Vents that have not previously been removed may take extra effort to remove.

SOUL - Center Vent Removal

1. Remove the center fascia.





2. Remove two phillips screws beneath the center fascia that hold the vent in place.

3. Insert the Air Vent Remover (09840-1M100) into the air vent as marked.





NOTICE





4. The Air Vent Remover (09840-1M100) should grasp the inside of the vent.





5. With the Air Vent Remover tool properly inserted in the vent, pull on the handle.

Forte - Side Vent Removal





1. Insert the Air Vent Remover (09840-1M100) into the air vent in the areas indicated by the circles.





2. The Air Vent Remover (09840-1M100) should grasp the inside of the vent.





3. With the Air Vent Remover tool properly inserted in the vent, pull on the handle.

Forte - Center Vent Removal





1. Insert the Air Vent Remover (09840-1M100) into the air vent as indicated by the circles.

2. The Air Vent Remover (09840-1M100) should grasp the inside of the vent as indicated.





3. With the Air Vent Remover tool properly inserted in the vent, pull on the handle.
