Terminal and Connector Inspection

1. Many malfunctions in the electrical system are caused by poor harness and terminals. Faults can also be caused by interference from other electrical systems, and mechanical or chemical damage.
2. Thoroughly check connectors for looseness, poor connection, bending, corrosion, contamination, deterioration, or damage.
3. Has a problem been found?






Power Circuit Inspection

1. CHECK POWER TO RANGE SWITCH ,
(1) Disconnect "INHIBITOR SWITCH" connector.
(2) Ignition "ON" & Engine "OFF".
(3) Measure voltage between "Power supply" terminal of the sensor harness connector and chassis ground.

Specification :Approx. B+








(4) Is voltage within specifications?






Signal Circuit Inspection

1. Ignition "OFF".
2. Disconnect "INHIBITOR SWITCH" and "TCM (PCM)" connector.
3. Measure resistance between each terminal of the sensor harness connector and TCM (PCM)harness connector as below.

4. Is resistance within specifications?
