SERVICE ACTION: SOUL CRASH PAD CENTER TRAY
DAMPER PAD (SA027)
This bulletin provides information relating to some SOUL [AM] vehicles built between 9/7/2009 ~ 11/27/2009 that may experience a condition where the center tray may not open at low outdoor air temperature below: 37° F (3° C).
Countermeasure: Install (2) new damper pads on the center tray following the Service Procedure below.
To improve customer satisfaction, Kia is requesting the completion of this Service Action on all affected 2010 Soul vehicles in dealer stock.

1. Open the center tray cover by sliding latch.
2. Determine the exact positioning of the new left and right-side damper pads: they should border with the vertical and lower horizontal reference lines as indicated in the photo.

3. Attach the (2) new damper pads at points indicated by the circles inside the center tray housing where center tray cover dampers make contact (top arrows) when the cover is closed.
