Repair Procedures (F4A42)





REMOVAL

1. Remove the console under cover (A).




2. Remove the console rear cover (A) and console assembly mounting bolts (B).








3. Remove the console assembly (A).




4. Remove the console upper cover (A).




5. Remove the front console (A).




6. Disconnect the control cable (A).








7. Disconnect the sports mode connector (A).




8. Remove the shift lever assembly (A).

NOTE:
Loosen the two bolts of both side linkage (B).




9. Remove the retainer and nuts.

NOTE:
In case, remove the crush pad and cowl cross bar. (refer to Crush pad in BD group and Heater unit in HA group)

10. Remove the control cable assembly from the transaxle.
11. Remove the control cable.

INSTALLATION

1. Install the retainer and nuts.

TORQUE : 12-15Nm(1.2 - 1.5 kgf.m, 8.7-10.8lb-ft)


NOTE:
Install the crush pad and cowl cross bar. (refer to Crush pad in BD group and Heater unit in HA group)

2. Install the shift lever assembly (A).

TORQUE :
[A] 2-3Nm( 0.2 - 0.3 kgf.m, 1.4-2.2 lb-ft)
[B] 9-14Nm( 0.9 - 1.4 kgf.m, 6.5-10.1 lb-ft)


NOTE:
Tighten the two bolts of both side linkage.
TORQUE : 7-8 Nm (0.7-0.8 kgf.m, 5.1-5.8 lb-ft)
[Order of installation]
1(temporarily tightening) -> (tightening with specified torque) 2 -> 3 -> 4 -> 5 -> 6 -> 1 -> 7 -> 8 -> 9




3. Install the sports mode connector (A).




4. Install the control cable (A).

CAUTION:
Be sure to place the waving shape (B) of the cable shown in the illustration.








5. Install the control cable assembly from the transaxle.
6. Install the front console (A).




7. Install the console upper cover (A).




8. Install the console assembly (A).




9. Install the console assembly mounting bolts (B) and console rear cover (A).








10. Install the console under cover (A).
