P2096 Post Catalyst Fuel Trim System Too Lean

System Inspection
1. Check clog on Exhaust gas system
(1) Key "OFF".
(2) Check clog on muffler or catalyst converter.
(3) Is Exhaust gas system O.K.?
YES
1) Go to "Intake air system check" procedure.
NO
1) Repair as necessary and go to "Verification of vehicle Repair" procedure.
2. Intake air system check
(1) Check leakage on Intake air system
> Check looseness, deterioration or contamination on throttle body and gasket.
> Check contamination, damage or crack on intake manifold, ISCA and injectors.
> Check for contamination or sticking on the ISCA assembly.
(2) Is there any leakage?
YES
1) Repair as necessary and go to "Verification of vehicle Repair" procedure
NO
1) Go to "Fuel line check" procedure.
3. Fuel line check
(1) Check "Fuel line system"
> Check looseness of connectors on fuel line.
> Check looseness, damage, or interference of vacuum hose on fuel line.
> Check damage, leakage or bending on fuel line pipe.
(2) Is fuel line normal?
YES
1) Go to "Fuel line pressure check" procedure.
NO
1) Repair as necessary and go to "Verification of vehicle Repair" procedure.
4. Fuel line pressure check
(1) Key "OFF".
(2) Fuel pump relay.
(3) Engine start and wait until engine stop. and then key "OFF".
(4) Install fuel pump relay.
(5) Connect fuel pressure gauge using the correct adapter.
(6) Start the engine and record fuel pressure.
A. Specification : Approx. 3.5 kg/cm2 (343.2 KPa, 50 psi)
(7) Is the fuel pressure normal?
YES
1) Go to "Component inspection" procedure.
NO
1) Check clogging on the fuel filter.
Check the supply pressure of fuel pump.
Repair as necessary and go to "Verification of vehicle Repair" procedure
