Campaign SA018 - PCM Update For Reverse Droning Noise
Model: Forte [TD]Group: Fuel System(14)
Number: KT2009102801
Date: Wednesday, October 28, 2009
Area: N. America
Subject
Service Action: PCM Upgrade "Reverse" Position RPM
Improvement (SA018) (Engine - 058)
- Description
KMA is conducting a Service Action in relation to some 2010 MY Forte Sedan and Koup with 2.4L engines. Some vehicles may experience a noise/droan from the engine compartment after shifting to reverse gear. Since the idle is slightly higher during "COLD" starts, the higher idle RPM create a noise (from the rear roll-stop due to excessive force at mount area). This PCM upgrade will lower the RPM range to eliminate the concern on vehicles produced prior to October 17, 2009.
To correct this condition, the PCM should be reprogrammed using the GDS download as described in this bulletin.
ROM TABLES
- To verify the vehicle is affected, be sure to check the Calibration Identification of the vehicle's ECM/PCM's ROM ID and reference the Information Table as necessary.
