- Description

This bulletin provides information relating to replacing the sunvisor retainer and/or adjusting the sunvisor on some Forte (TD) vehicles produced from 03/02/2009 through 06/24/2009. Forte (TD) vehicles in this production range may exhibit a sunvisor that rattles and/or is easily disengaged from the sunvisor retainer as well as a sunvisor striker that does not align with the sunvisor retainer. Follow this service procedure as directed to repair these customer concerns.

PARTS INFORMATION:

- Service Procedure

1. Lower the sunvisor and detach from the sunvisor retainer





Swing the sunvisor towards the door window.





2. Using a Phillips screwdriver remove the sunvisor retainer screw.





3. Turn the sunvisor retainer 90 degrees.





4. Remove the sunvisor retainer.

5. Install a new improved sunvisor retainer using the reverse order of removal.

6. Apply the above procedure to the opposite side.

Sunvisor Adjustment Procedure:





7. If the sunvisor striker is mis-aligned with the sunvisor retainer, perform the following procedures.

8. Using a soft mallet or your hand GENTLY tap on the end of the sunvisor. Move the sunvisor to its parked position and check alignment of the sunvisor striker with the sunvisor retainer.

Adjust the sunvisor as needed until the sunvisor striker is aligned with the sun visor retainer.





9. The sunvisor adjustment is correct when the sunvisor striker is aligned with the sunvisor retainer
