Terminal and Connector Inspection

1. Many malfunctions in the electrical system are caused by poor harness and terminals.
Faults can also be caused by interference from other electrical systems, and mechanical or chemical damage.
2. Thoroughly check shorting connectors for looseness, poor connection, bending, corrosion, contamination, deterioration or damage.
3. Has a problem been found?
YES
1) Repair as necessary and then go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedure.
NO
1) Go to "Telltale lamp Circuit Inspection" procedure.

Telltale lamp Circuit Inspection

1. Ignition "OFF".
2. Remove the Instrument center facia assembly.
3. Ignition "ON" & Engine "OFF".
4. Measure voltage between terminal "1" of the cluster harness connector and chassis ground.
A. Specification : Batt Voltage




5. Is the measured voltage within specifications?
YES
1) Check telltale lamp and connectors for looseness, poor connection, bending, corrosion, contamination, deterioration or damage. Repair or replace as necessary and then go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedure.
NO
1) Check airbag fuse, passenger compartment junction block, harness between junction block and SRSCM. Repair as necessary and go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedure.
