W/Harness Inspection

Terminal and Connector inspection

1. Many malfunctions in the electrical system are caused by poor harness(es) and terminals. Faults can also be caused by interference from other electrical systems, and mechanical or chemical damage.
2. Thoroughly check connectors for looseness, poor connection, bending, corrosion, contamination, deterioration, or damage.
3. Has a problem been found?






Ground Circuit Inspection

Check for Open in Ground Circuit
1. IG KEY 'OFF'.
2. Disconnect Fuel Level Sender 'A' harness connector.
3. Measure resistance between ground terminal of Fuel Level Sender 'A' harness connector and chassis ground.

Specification : Below 1 Ohm





4. Is resistance within specification?






Signal Circuit Inspection

Check for Short to Power in Signal Circuit
1. IG KEY 'ON'.
2. Measure voltage between signal terminal of Fuel Level Sender 'A' connector and chassis ground. (Under connector connected condition)

Specification : 0.2 - 4.8 V (Fuel Tank no empty condition)





3. Is voltage within specification?
