- Description





This bulletin provides information related to adjusting the rear door quarter glass to decrease a concern with wind noise. On some vehicles produced from 7/12/2008 to 9/10/2008 a gap may exist between the door frame and glass run causing wind noise at freeway speeds. This procedure will set the left rear quarter glass and weather-strip in the proper position to decrease excessive turbulent wind noise.

*NOTICE
A Service Action is a repair program without customer notification that is performed during the warranty period. Any dealer request to perform this repair outside the warranty period will require DPSM approval.

1. Confirm the condition is present with gap of .5 ~1.5 mm.

a) If there is no gap between the weatherstrip and window frame no further action is required





2. Loosen and remove the upper quarter window track retaining screw, partially remove the weather-strip to gain access.

*NOTICE
Be careful not to scratch the paint when removing the screw from the door frame.





3. Pull the rear quarter glass assembly rearward using the vertical window track as shown; this will seat the glass run and eliminate any gap as shown in Step 1.





4. Align the vertical window track to the upper door frame and install the removed screw, tighten to 36~48 inch lbs. (5 ~ 6 Nm).





5. Re-install the partially removed weather-strip. Ensure the weather-strip is properly routed into the channel and secured.





6. When complete, clean the window glass as required before returning vehicle into service.
