Keyless Entry: Description and Operation
Description
The keyless entry system consists of BCM components, Transmitter and receiver.
When anybody attempts to forcibly enter the car or open trunk lid or engine hood without a key, if you depress the panic button on the transmitter for more than 2 seconds, the horn will sound and the hazard will flash for about 27 seconds.
At the same time, it locks the entire door and electrically disconnects the starting system.
Also, the keyless entry system is able to lock and unlock all of the doors, open the trunk at a distance.
NOTE:
- The receiver is integrated in the BCM.
