Restraint (Airbag Control)

WARNING LAMP ACTIVATION

The warning lamp is continuously illuminated when (after the SRSCM completes initialization) a crash entry (designated by crash record locked) exists or if a qualified restraint system fault exists. In this case, the initialization is shown with a historic fault and therefore the warning lamp is on during initialization.
1) Continuously illuminated for 6 seconds after ignition on
2) Turn-off for 2 seconds
3) Warning lamp will continuously illuminate after above procedures a) and b) are completed

The warning lamp is turned off after the SRSCM completes initialization.
1) Continuously illuminated for 6 seconds after ignition on
2) Turn-off for 2 seconds
3) Turn-off for remainder of key cycles unless a crash or active fault is detected.

The SRSCM will flash warning lamp at 1 Hz (50% duty cycle) if there are no active faults and no historic faults. If a fault is qualified during the 1 Hz flashing, the SRSCM will finish the 6 seconds flash, turn off the warning lamp for 2 seconds and then turn the warning lamp off.

The SRSCM will flash warning lamp at 1 Hz (50% duty cycle) if there was a low/high voltage fault but there were no active faults and no historic faults. If a fault is qualified during the 1 Hz flashing, the SRSCM will finish the 6 second flashes, turn off the warning lamp for 2 seconds and then turn the warning lamp off.

TELLTALE LAMP ACTIVATION

The Telltale Lamp indicates that the Passenger Airbag (PAB) is available or disabled. If the passenger seat is empty or occupied with child (or child seat), the Passenger Airbag is disabled and the Telltale Lamp is turned ON to inform the driver that the PAB is disabled.

As soon as operating voltage is applied to the SRSCM ignition input, the SRSCM activates the Telltale Lamp prove out. After the prove out is complete, the telltale lamp will be turned on when the OC system requires suppression.

The telltale lamp proves out as described below:
1) Continuously illuminated for 6 seconds after ignition on
2) Turn-off for 2 second
3) Warning lamp will be controlled by the OC status after above procedures a) and b) are completed.

The telltale lamp is continuously illuminated when suppression is required by the OCS.
