Restraint (Airbag Control) - Passenger Airbag (PAB) Module








DESCRIPTION

The passenger Airbag (PAB) is installed inside the dash and protects the front passenger in the event of a frontal crash. The SRSCM determines if and when to deploy the PAB but the front impact sensor (FIS) signal. The PAB is a two-stage device; if the SRSCM determines that only the first stage should activate, the second stage will dispose 120 ms after first-stage deployment. In case of loss of vehicle power, the driver firing loops are have a 150 ms battery backup.

CAUTION:
Never attempt to measure the circuit resistance of the airbag module (squib) even if you are using the specified tester. If the circuit resistance is measured with a tester, accidental airbag deployment will result in serious personal injury.
