SERVICE ACTION: DOOR TRIM ARMREST GRIP HANDLE REPLACEMENT (SA039)
This bulletin provides information relating to some Spectra (LD) vehicles built from June 12, 2007 to November 23, 2007 that may have developed a crack on the door trim armrest handle cover. If any cracks are found, replace the defective door trim armrest grip handle cover with the new updated part by following the Service Procedure outlined below.
To improve customer satisfaction, Kia is requesting the completion of this Service Action on all affected 2008 MY Spectra (LD) vehicles.
NOTICE
A Service Action is a repair program without customer notification that is performed during the warranty period. Any dealer request to perform this repair outside the warranty period will require DPSM approval.
Repair status for a VIN is provided on WebDCS (Service>Warranty Coverage> Warranty Coverage Inquiry>Campaign Information). Not Completed Recall/Service Action reports are available on WebDCS (Consumer Affairs>Not Completed Recall Recall VIN>Select Report).
The issue number is SA039.
Service Procedure
1. Check all door trim armrest grip handle covers for any noticeable cracks.
2. Replace the defective door trim armrest grip handle cover assembly with the new updated assembly.
NOTICE
Remove the door trim armrest grip handle cover, beginning with the rear section first as indicated by the arrow. Plastic parts could be damaged when prying cover upward, use care during removal procedure.
