Repair Procedures (A5GF1)








REMOVAL

1. Remove the engine cover (A).




2. Remove the battery (A).




3. Remove the air upper body (A).




4. Remove the PCM connectors (A).




5. After disconnecting the AFS connector (A) and removing the air cleaner upper body (B).




6. Remove the air cleaner under body (A).




7. Remove the battery tray (A).




8. Disconnect the ground wire (A).




9. Disconnect the inhibitor switch connector (A), solenoid valve connector (B) and the input shaft speed sensor connector (C).




10. Disconnect the output shaft speed sensor connector (A), and vehicle speed sensor connector (B).








11. Disconnect the control cable (A) by removing the nut (B).




12. Remove the control cable bracket (A).




13. Remove the transaxle oil cooler hoses (A) releasing the clamps.




14. Remove the transaxle upper mounting bolts (A).




15. Remove the transaxle insulator mounting bolt (A).




16. Using the SST(09200-38001), support the engine and transaxle assembly safely.




17. Disconnect the power steering pressure tube (A) from the power steering oil pump.




18. Remove the front wheels and Lifting up the vehicle, remove the under cover (A).




19. Drain power steering fluid through the return tube by loosening the clamp (A).




20. After removing the oil drain plug (A), drain the fluid.




21. Remove the lower arm ball joint assembly mounting bolts and tie rod end ball joint.
22. Remove the stabilizer link mounting nut.
23. Remove the power steering column joint bolt (A).
24. Remove the front (B) rear (A) roll stopper mounting bolts.








25. Remove the muffler hanger rubber (A).




26. Supporting the sub frame (A) with a jack and the Special tool (09624-38000), remove the mounting bolts.




27. Remove the front muffler assembly (A).




28. Remove the inner shaft bracket bolts (A).




29. Remove drive shaft (A, B) from transaxle.








30. Remove the left side cover (A).




31. Remove the front roll support (A) from the transaxle.




32. Remove the starter motor mounting bolt and nut.




33. Remove the drive plate bolts (A).

NOTE:
Remove the bolts (A-6ea) rotating the crankshaft clockwise.




34. Remove the transaxle under mounting bolts.




35. Lifting the vehicle up and lowering the jack slowly, remove the transaxle assembly.

INSTALLATION

1. Lifting up the transaxle slowly with a jack, tighten the under mounting bolts.

TORQUE
A : 80 - 100 Nm(8 - 10 kgf.m, 57.9 - 72.3 lb-ft)
B : 40 - 47 Nm(4.0 - 4.7 kgf.m, 29.0 - 34.1 lb-ft)





2. Install the drive plate bolts (A).

TORQUE :
46 - 53 Nm(4.6 - 5.3 kgf.m, 33.3 - 38.3 lb-ft)


NOTE:
Install the bolts (A-6ea) rotating the crankshaft clockwise.




3. Install the starter motor mounting bolt and nut.




4. Install the front roll support (A) from the transaxle.




5. Install the left side cover (A).




6. Install drive shaft(A, B) from transaxle.








7. Install the inner shaft bracket bolts (A).

TORQUE :
50 - 65 Nm(5.0 - 6.5 kgf.m, 36.2 - 47.0 lb-ft)





8. Install the front muffler assembly (A).

TORQUE :
40 - 60 Nm(4 - 6 kgf.m, 28.9 - 43.4 lb-ft)





9. Supporting the sub frame with a jack and the special tool (09624-38000), install the mounting bolts.




10. Install the muffler hanger rubber (A).




11. Install the front (B) rear (A) roll stopper mounting bolts.

TORQUE
A : 50 - 65 Nm(5.0 - 6.5 kgf.m, 36.2 - 47.0 lb-ft)
B : 50 - 65 Nm(5.0 - 6.5 kgf.m, 36.2 - 47.0 lb-ft)









12. Install the power steering column joint bolt (A).
13. Install the stabilizer link mounting nut.
14. Install the lower arm ball joint assembly mounting bolts and tie rod end ball joint.
15. Connect the the power steering return hose (A) by tightening the clamp (B).




16. Install the front wheels and Lifting up the vehicle, remove the under cover (A).




17. Connect the power steering pressure bolt (A).

TORQUE :
55 - 65 Nm(5.5 - 6.5 kgf.m, 36 - 47 lb-ft)





18. Remove the special tool (09200-38001).




19. Install the transaxle insulator mounting bolt (A).

TORQUE :
60 - 80 Nm(6.0 - 8.0 kgf.m, 43.4 - 57.9 lb-ft)





20. Install the transaxle upper mounting bolts (A).

TORQUE
65 - 85 Nm(6.5 - 8.5 kgf.m, 47.0 - 61.5 lb-ft)





21. Install the transaxle oil cooler hoses (A) releasing the clamps.




22. Install the control cable bracket (A).




23. Install the control cable assembly (C) by installing the nut (A) and clip (B).




24. Install the vehicle speed sensor connector (B) and output speed sensor connector (A).








25. Install the inhibitor switch connector (A), solenoid valve connector (B) and the input shaft speed sensor connector (C).




26. Install the ground earth wire (A).




27. Install the battery tray (A).




28. Install the air cleaner under body (A).




29. Install the AFS connector (A) and air cleaner upper body (B).




30. Install the PCM connectors (A).




31. Install the air upper body (A).




32. Install the battery (A).




33. Install the engine cover (A).




34. Refill the automatic transaxle fluid.
35. Refill the power steering fluid and bleed the air.
