Repair Procedures (F4A42)








REMOVAL

1. Remove the battery (A) with the mounting plate and bolt.




2. Remove the engine cover.




3. Remove the air cleaner upper body (B) after disconnecting the air flow sensor connector (A).




4. Remove the PCM connector (A) and air cleaner under body (B).




5. Remove the battery tray (A).




6. Disconnect the ground earth wire(A).




7. Disconnect the inhibitor switch connector (A), solenoid valve connector (B) and the input shaft speed sensor connector (C).




8. Disconnect the output shaft speed sensor connector (A), and vehicle speed sensor connector(B).




9. Detach the hoses(A), loosening the oil cooler hose clamps.




10. Remove the control cable assembly by removing the nut (B) and clip (A).




11. Remove the transaxle upper mounting bolts(A).




12. Disconnect the power steering pressure tube (A) from the power steering oil pump.




13. Using the SST(09200-38001), hold the engine and transaxle assembly safely.




14. Remove the front wheels and Lifting up the vehicle, remove the under cover.
15. After removing the oil drain plug (A), drain the fluid.




16. Drain power steering fluid through the return tube by loosening the clamp (A).




17. Remove the lower arm ball joint assembly mounting bolts and tie rod end ball joint.
18. Remove the stabilizer link mounting nuts.
19. Remove the power steering column joint bolt (A).
20. Remove the front (B) rear (A) roll stopper mounting bolts.








21. Remove the muffler hanger rubber (A).




22. Supporting the sub frame with a jack and the special tool (09624-38000), remove the mounting bolts.




23. Disconnect the driveshafts(A, B) from the transaxle.








24. Remove the left side cover (A).




25. Remove the drive plate bolts (A).

NOTE:
Remove the bolts (A-6ea) rotating the crankshaft clockwise.




26. Remove the transaxle insulator mounting bolts (A).




27. Supporting the transaxle with a jack, remove the transaxle lower mounting bolts.






INSTALLATION

1. Install the transaxle lower mounting bolts after fitting the transaxle assembly into the engine assembly.

TORQUE : 80 - 100Nm (8.0 - 10.0kgf.m, 57.9-72.3 lb-ft)





2. Install the transaxle insulator mounting bracket bolts (A).

TORQUE : 60-80Nm(6.0-8.0kgf.m, 43.4-57.9lb-ft)





3. Install the drive plate bolts (A) by rotating the timing gear.

TORQUE : 46-53Nm (4.6-5.3kgf.m, 33.3-38.3lb-ft)


NOTE:
Install the bolts (A-6ea) rotating the crankshaft clockwise.




4. Install the left side cover (A).




5. Connect the driveshafts (A, B) to the transaxle.








6. Supporting the sub frame with a jack and the special tool (09624-38000), install the mounting bolts.

TORQUE : 140-160Nm(14-16kgf.m, 101.3-115.7lb-ft)





7. Install the muffler hanger rubber (A).




8. Install the front (B) rear (A) roll stopper mounting bolts.

TORQUE : 50-65Nm(5-6.5kgf.m, 36.2-47.0lb-ft)









9. Install the steering column joint bolt.
10. Install the stabilizer link mounting nuts.
11. Install the lower arm ball joint assembly mounting bolts and tie rod end ball joint.
12. Connect the the power steering return hose(A) by tightening the clamp(B)




13. Install the oil drain plug(A).

TORQUE : 30-35Nm(3.0-3.5kgf.m, 21.7-25.3 lb-ft)





14. Install the front under cover and front wheels&tires.
15. Remove the special tool (09200-38001).




16. Connect the power steering pressure bolt (A).

TORQUE : 55-65Nm(5.5-6.5kgf.m,39.8-47.0lb-ft)





17. Install the transaxle upper mounting bolts (A).

TORQUE : 43-55Nm(4.3-5.5kgf.m, 31.1-39.8lb-ft)





18. Install the control cable assembly (C) by installing the nut (A) and clip (B).




19. Connect the transaxle oil cooler hoses (B) to the tubes by tightening the clamps (A).




20. Install the vehicle speed sensor connector (B) and output speed sensor connector (A).




21. Install the inhibitor switch connector (A) inhibitor valve connector (B) and the input shaft speed sensor connector (C).




22. Install the ground earth wire (A).




23. Install the battery tray (A).




24. Install the PCM connector (A) and air cleaner under body (B).




25. Install the air cleaner upper body (B) and air flow sensor connector (A).




26. Install the engine cover (A).




27. Install the battery (A) with the mounting plate and bolt




28. Refill the automatic transaxle fluid.
29. Refill the power steering fluid and bleed the air.
