DTC 53
53Component Location:
General Description
The power window motor is controlled by means of communication between safety power window ECU and power window main/assist switch module.
The power window motor is also controlled by directly connected up/down switches.
During Auto Up movement, force limitation/block detection is active within the protection range.
If system stays in status normalized and Auto Up is active, the following process shows the normal behavior of force limitation:
1. Window moves up with auto-up function
2. Window is within the safety function range
3. Detects an obstacle by safety function algorithm
4. Motor stops
5. Motor reverses
6. Motor moves down to reversing position or becomes stopped at the bottom travel position of window.
DTC Description
The safety power window ECU sets DTC R/PSN SAFETY P/WDW UNIT ERROR if the ECU detects a plausibility of EEPROM error in the unit. (The state of operation : window stops after approx. 5 cm of movement)
DTC Detecting Condition:
Schematic Diagram:
Safety ECU Inspection
1. Ignition "ON" & Engine "OFF"
2. Connect scantool and clear DTC.
3. Is R/PSN SAFETY P.WDW UNIT ERR present?
YES - Substitute with a known-good rear safety power window ECU R/H and check proper condition. If the problem is corrected, replace rear safety power window ECU R/H.
NO - System performing to specification at this time.
