DTC Detecting Condition:

Schematic Diagram:

Component Inspection

Check Mirror Motor
1. Ignition "ON" & Engine "OFF"
2. Using the scantool, select ACTUATION TEST function.
3. Simulate "RH OUTSIDE MIRROR UP(DOWN, LEFT, RIGHT) POSITION"

Specification : 2 sec activation

4. Are motors activated within specification?

YES - Go to "W/Harness Inspection" procedure.

NO - Go to "Check switch" as below.

Check Switch
5. Ignition "ON" & Engine "OFF"
6. Using the scantool, select INPUT/OUTPUT MONITORING function.
7. Monitor "PSNGER MIRROR SW UP(DOWN, LEFT, RIGHT)" parameters when the UP(DOWN, LEFT, RIGHT) switch is ON/OFF.

Specification : Input parameters are changed(ON <--> OFF) by switch ON/OFF

8. Are input parameters changed within specification?

YES - Check open of mirror motor control wire harness. If wire harness is OK and B+ power is supplied to mirror motor by assist switch module, then replace RH outside mirror(power mirror motor). If wire harness is OK and B+ power is not supplied to mirror motor by assist switch module, then replace power window assist switch module.

NO - Substitute with a known-good power window assist switch module and check proper condition. If the problem is corrected, replace power window assist switch module and then go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedure.

Terminal and Connector Inspection
1. Many malfunctions in the electrical system are caused by poor harness and terminals. Faults can also be caused by interference from other electrical systems, and mechanical or chemical damage.
2. Thoroughly check connectors for looseness, poor connection, bending, corrosion, contamination, deterioration, or damage.
3. Has a problem been found?

YES - Repair as necessary and go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedure

NO - Go to "Signal Circuit Inspection" procedure

Signal Circuit Inspection
1. Ignition "ON" and Engine "OFF"
2. Disconnect power window assist switch module connector.
3. Measure voltage between "11" power window assist switch module harness connector and chassis ground.

Specification : Approx. 1 - 4 V when power mirror is moved.

4. Is the measured voltage within specification?

YES - Thoroughly check connectors for looseness, poor connection, bending, corrosion, contamination, deterioration or damage. Repair or replace as necessary and then go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedure.

NO - Check open or short circuit of the horizontal sensor wire harness. If wire harness is OK, replace RH outside mirror(horizontal sensor) and then go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedure.

Verification of Vehicle Repair
After a repair, it is essential to verify that the fault has been corrected.
1. Ignition "ON" & Engine "OFF"
2. Connect scantool and clear DTC.
3. Are any DTCs present?

YES - Go to the applicable troubleshooting procedure.

NO - System is performing to specification at this time.
