Ignition Switch: Service and Repair

IGNITION SYSTEM

REMOVAL
1. Disconnect the negative (-) battery terminal.




2. Remove the crash pad lower panel (A).




3. Remove the screws (2EA) and trip switch connector. Then remove the cluster facia panel (A).




4. Remove the shroud (A) after removing the fixed screws (3EA).




5. Remove the door warning switch and key illumination lamp (A) after loosening the screw and disconnecting the 6P connector.




6. If it is necessary to remove the key lock cylinder (B), Remove the key lock cylinder after pushing lock pin (A) with key ACC.

INSTALLATION
1. Install the key lock cylinder.
2. Install the door warning switch and key illumination lamp.
3. Install the steering column cover.
4. Install the ignition switch.
5. Install the crash pad lower panel.




INSPECTION
1. Disconnect the ignition switch connector and key warning switch connector from under the steering column.
2. Check for continuity between the terminals.




3. If continuity is not specified, replace the switch.
