Component Inspection

CAUTION: It is necessary to perform the TPS adaptation procedure with Scan tool when the throttle body assembly or ECM is replaced.

TPS adaptation procedure
1. Erase previous TPS adaptation value using Scan tool.
2. Ignition "OFF" and then "ON" without cranking. Wait for 10 seconds under enable conditions
Enable conditions : Battery >10V & Intake Air Temp. >5.3 °C (41.5 °F) & 5.3 °C (41.5 °F) 3. After TPS adaptation, the system normality should be confirmed by reading out "FMY" on the Scan Tool

ETC Motor Inspection

1. Ignition "ON" & Engine "OFF"
2. Install scantool and select "ETC MOTOR" parameter on the Actuation Test mode
3. Activates "ETC MOTOR" by pressing "STRT (F1)" key
4. Verify ETC MOTOR is activating (should hear a click from motor)
5. Repeat this procedure 4 or 5 times to ensure ETC MOTOR reliability.
6. Is ETC MOTOR working properly ?
YES
1) Go to next step
NO
1) Check ETC motor, referring troubleshooting guide for DTC P0638. Repair or replace as necessary and go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedure

TPS Inspection

1. Start engine and install scan tool
2. Monitor the "TPS VOLTAGE 1" and "TPS VOLTAGE 2" parameters on the Scantool data list.
A. Specification: Refer to "Signal Waveform & Data" in the "General Information" procedure
- Output of TPS 1 increases smoothly in proportion with the throttle valve opening angle.
- Output of TPS 2 decreases smoothly in inverse proportion with the throttle valve opening angle.
3. Are the TPS VOLTAGE 1 & 2 within the specification ?
YES
1) Go to W/Harness Inspection
NO
1) Check TPS 1 & 2, referring troubleshooting guide for DTC P0121/P0221. Repair or replace as necessary and go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedure
