2007 Amanti (GH) Crank - No Start Condition - DTC P1690

- Description

This Pitstop addresses some 2007 Amanti (GH) with a production date before 04/12/2007, which may have an intermittent concern of crank, but no-start, along with P1690 Immobilizer SMARTRA Error code being set. In typical cases, reattempting to start the engine after turning the key completely OFF allows the engine to start normally. It has been determined that a stray signal can in some cases interfere with the immobilizer signal being sent between the Immobilizer SMARTRA module and the PCM.

The Immobilizer SMARTRA module has been redesigned to address this concern. To repair a 2007 Amanti (GH) that exhibits an intermittent crank, no-start condition, and that sets a P1690 Immobilizer SMARTRA Error code, replace the Immobilizer SMARTRA module with part number 95420 2L700.

NOTE:
Immobilizer SMARTRA module part number 95420 2L700 does not look the same as the original Immobilizer SMARTRA module. Nonetheless, the bracket and electrical connector are the same, allowing installation. Follow the replacement procedure outlined on GDS/KGIS.





Kia Motors America asks that for now, dealers only order 95420 2L700 for a customer complaint. Current PDC stock is low, and will not support normal part stock orders.

A TSB is being written to address this concern in greater detail, and when released will replace this Pitstop in its entirety.

At that same time, dealers will be able to order 95420 2L700 for normal part stock if desired.
