Front Door: Service and Repair

FRONT DOOR




1. Remove door quadrant inner cover.




2. Remove door inner handle cover.
3. Remove door trim.




1. Remove arm rest.




2. Remove door trim fastener and screws(4).




3. Remove door trim.




4. Disconnect door trim connector.




4. Remove door screen.

NOTE: Peel door screen off care fully so that it can be reused.

5. Remove window glass.
1. Connect power window switch connector.
2. Connect negative battery terminal.




3. Turn ignition switch "ON" and set window glass grip bolts on access hole.
4. Turn ignition switch "OFF".




5. Remove glass run channel.

NOTE: When install the glass run channel, use soap and water for lubrication.




6. Remove window glass grip bolts(2).

Tightening torque : 8 - 12 Nm (0.8 - 1.2 kg.m, 6 - 9 lb.ft)

7. Remove door glass.

NOTE: Remove the glass carefully to avoid brakeage.

8. Disconnect negative battery terminal.

9. Remove power window switch connector.


6. Remove door channel.




1. Remove door channel mounting bolts(2).

Tightening torque : 8 - 12 Nm (0.8 - 1.2 kg.m, 6 - 9 lb.ft)

2. Remove door channel.

7. Remove door module assembly.




1. Disconnect door outer handle rods(2).




2. Remove door latch screws(3).

Tightening torque : 7 - 11 Nm (0.7 - 1.1 kg.m, 5 - 8 lb.ft)




3. Remove door module bolts(5) and nuts(2).

Tightening torque : 8 - 12 Nm (0.8 - 1.2kg.m, 6 - 9 lb.ft)

4. Disconnect door module connector.
5. Remove wire harness from door module assembly.
6. Remove door module assembly.

8. Remove door latch assembly from door module assembly.




1. Remove door latch cables(2).




2. Remove door latch assembly.




a. Push the stopper with a screwdriver.

b. Push the door latch toward the door module and remove it.

9. Remove door outer handle.




1. Remove key cylinder mounting bolt, and then key cylinder.

2. Disconnect key cylinder connector.





3. Remove outer handle cover.




4. Remove outer handle from handle base.

10. Remove outside rearview mirror.




1. Disconnect actuator connector.




2. Remove outside rearview mirror mounting nuts(3).

Tightening torque : 7 - 11 Nm (0.7 - 1.1 kg.m, 5 - 8 lb.ft)




3. Push the both sides of the clip, and then remove outside rearview mirror.




11. Remove door checker bolts.

Tightening torque :
Body side : 17 - 22 N-m (1.7 - 2.2 kg.m, 12 - 16 lb.ft)
Door side : 7 - 11 N-m (0.7 - 1.1 kg.m, 5 - 8 lb.ft)




12. Disconnect door main connector.




13. Remove door upper hinge bolts(2) and lower hinge bolts(2) from body side.

Tightening torque

Body side : 35 - 42 Nm (3.5 - 4.2 kg.m, 25 - 30 lb.ft)

Door side : 13 - 26 Nm (1.3 - 2.6 kg.m, 9 - 19 lb.ft)




14. Remove door frame.
15. Install in reverse order of removal.
