2006.5 MY Optima Auto Door Locks and RKE User Options

The 2006.5 Optima has been designed to incorporate a Body Control Module (BCM) that allows certain functions to be set based on user preferences.

^ The Auto Door Lock or "rolling door locks" feature is standard on all LX / EX trim levels and can be set to the following speeds:

^ 12 mph (20 km/h)

^ 15 mph (25 km/h)

^ 18 mph (30 km/h)

^ 21 mph (35 km/h)

^ 25 mph (40 km/h)

The factory default setting for this feature is set as "disabled".

The two other incorporated preferences are for the functionality of the RKE. These functions are:

^ Arm / Disarm the alarm function with driver's exterior key cylinder

^ Horn Answer Back Feature with RKE.

^ These two RKE options are only available on LX-Automatic Transmissions (2.4L) / EX (2.4L) and LX (2.7L) / EX (2.7L) trim levels. The factory default setting for this feature is set as "enabled".

The Global Diagnostic System (GDS) is fitted with the software required to modify user options.

Configure the GDS to communicate with the BCM, then return to the Main Screen and select the "System Option" link.

From the System Option menu, select the "User Option" link.

Follow the instructions on the screen to modify User Options.
