Rear

UPPER ARM, LOWER ARM AND ASSIST LINK





COMPONENTS

REPLACEMENT
REAR UPPER ARM





1. Remove the rear upper arm assembly.





2. Using the special tools (09432-22000, 09545-21100), remove the pillow ball bush assembly.





3. Set the pillow ball bush assembly so that its identification color is shown outside the upper arm.
4. Press-fit the pillow ball bush assembly in the upper arm.





5. Install the upper arm assembly.

TRAILING ARM





1. Remove the rear side bolt.





2. Remove the front side trailing arm nut.





3. Remove the trailing arm assembly.





4. Using the special tools(09216-21600, 09552-38100), remove and press-fit the bushing.





5. When press fitting, apply soap solution to the outside surface of the bushing, position it as shown in the illustration.
6. Install the trailing arm.

REAR ASSIST ARM





1. Remove the assist arm assembly.





2. Using the special tool (09552-38000), replace the bushing.





3. When press-fitting, apply soap solution to the bushing and inside the assist arm.





4. Install the assist arm assembly.

REAR CENTER ARM





1. Loosen the ball joint nut but do not remove it.





2. Using the special tool(09545-4A000), disconnect the ball joint from the rear axle carrier.
3. Remove the center arm mounting bolt.





4. Remove the center arm assembly.





5. Using the special tools (09545-33000B,09552-38200), replace the bushing.
6. Install the rear center arm.

REAR STABILIZER LINK





1. Remove the stabilizer link assembly.





2. Check the stabilizer link ball joint rotating torque.
1) If there is a crack in the dust cover, replace it and add grease.
2) Shake the stabilizer link ball joint stud several times.
3) Mount the self-locking nut on the ball joint, and then measure the ball joint turning torque.
Standard value: 0.7 - 2.0 Nm (7 - 20 kg-cm, 6 - 17 inch lbs.)
4) If the turning torque exceeds the upper limit of standard value, replace the stabilizer link.
5) Even if the turning torque is below the lower limit of the standard value, the ball joint may be reused unless it has drag and excessive play.
