Fuel System - Troubleshooting - P0700

GENERAL DESCRIPTION
The TCM can request activation of the MIL lamp via a communication line to the PCM. This is only a request from TCM to PCM to turn the MIL on. The fault code is stored in the TCM. Select Transaxle system on the Scantool and monitor DTC related automatic transaxle system. DO ALL REPAIRS associated malfunction with A/T.

DTC Detecting Condition:

MONITOR DTC STATUS
1. This is only a request from TCM to PCM to turn the MIL on. The fault code is stored in the TCM. The Freeze Frame Data is stored in the PCM under the P0700 request code. Be sure to retrieve freeze frame data before clearing code P0700 from PCM.
2. Check the transaxle system.

DESCRIPTION
The stop switch signals the TCM when the brakes are applied. The stop switch is closed when the brakes are depressed and open when they are released. The stop switch will also disengage damper clutch when brake is applied.
