Suspension Spring ( Coil / Leaf ): Service and Repair
RemovalRaise the front of the vehicle and support it with safety stands.
1. Remove the clip of the strut side.
2. Remove the flexible hose and ABS sensor cable from the strut bracket.
3. Remove the stabilizer control link from the bracket mounted to the strut.
4. Detach the knuckle from the strut.
5. Remove the attaching nut.
6. Remove the strut from suspension tower.
Installation
1. Position the strut, with adjusting plate in place into the strut tower with the raised rubber mounting facing in board.
2. Install the strut mounting block nuts.
Tightening torque: 34 - 46 ft. lbs. (46 - 63 Nm, 4.7 - 6.4 kg-m).
3. Install the steering knuckle in the strut lower bracket and install the two strut lower bracket nuts with attaching nuts.
Tightening torque: 76 - 90.4 ft. lbs. (103 - 123 Nm, 10.5 - 12.5 kg-m).
4. Install the stabilizer control link to the bracket mounted to the strut.
Tightening torque: 32 - 45 ft. lbs. (43 - 60.8 Nm, 4.4 - 6.2 kg-m)
5. Position the brake line and ABS sensor cable in the cutout on the strut lower bracket and secure it with the brake line clip.
