P0551 - Power Steering Pressure Sensor/Switch Circuit Range/Performance






Function
The power steering system uses hydraulic pressure which is generated by the power steering pump to reduce the effort required to turn the steering wheel. The power steering oil pressure switch senses the power steering load in low/high voltage and inputs it to ECM, which then controls the idle speed control motor based on this signal.

DTC Description
The ECM sets DTC P0551 if ECM detects that power steering switch working improperly.
