SOURCE: KIA Technician Times Volume 7 Issue 1, 2004

TITLE: Component Default Settings Reset Procedure After Loss of Battery Power

APPLIES TO: Amanti

SERVICE TIP:

The increased number of components on Amanti that use a memory feature may require extra attention before, during and after service activities. Before interrupting battery power, use a memory saver tool or write down the pre-sets for climate control and audio. Re-enter this information before delivering the vehicle to the customer.

For items that require the customer's presence in the car; such as, seat and mirror memory pre-sets, explain the reason for the resets and if necessary, provide reset assistance to the customer.

The following components must be reset if battery has been disconnected, discharged, or after memory fuse is removed.
