Parking Brake System: Adjustments

ADJUSTMENT PROCEDURE
PARKING BRAKE STROKE ADJUSTMENT
1. Remove the adjusting hole plug, and then turn the adjuster in clockwise direction(down). To prevent the disc from rotating, use a screwdriver (flat tip (-)).
2. Turn the adjuster 5 notches in the opposite direction(up).





3. Adjustment procedure of parking brake cable. Adjust parking brake stroke to be 88 - 98 mm (3.47 - 3.90 inch) by turning the adjusting nut while applying 20 kg (196 N, 44 lbs.) to the brake pedal after full stroke operation of parking brake pedal over 3 time for setting parking cable.

CAUTION: Must be free from clearance between the adjusting nut and pin.

4. After adjusting the parking brake stroke, raise the rear of vehicle with a jack.
5. Check that the rear brakes do not drag by turning the rear wheel when the parking brake lever is released.

PARKING BRAKE BED-IN (DIM)
1. When the parking brake pedal is pushed with force of 10 kg(98 N, 22 lbs.), drive the vehicle 500m at 60 kph.
2. Repeat step 1 more than 2 times.
3. Parking should be possible on a hill of 30%.

CAUTION:
^ After assembling, check that all parts move smoothly.
^ Must be free from troubles when the parking brake pedal is operated at 100 kg (980 N, 220 lbs.).
