SPECIFICATIONS

General





Cylinder Head





Tighten cylinder head bolts in order shown.
Tightening torque: 36.1 ft. lbs. (49 Nm, 5 kg-m)

Loosen bolts in reverse of order shown.

Retighten cylinder head bolts in order shown.
Tightening torque: 18 ft. lbs. (25 Nm, 2.5 kg-m)

Mark cylinder head bolts for rotational reference.
Rotate cylinder head bolts 90° (1/4 Turn) in order shown.

CAUTION:
^ Do not reuse the old cylinder head bolts.


Manifolds, Intake and Exhaust

Manifold nuts and bolts (both intake and exhaust) 11 - 14 ft. lbs. (15 - 20 Nm, 1.5 - 2.0 kg-m)


Camshaft Carrier

Tighten the cam carrier bolts to the specified torque in two or three steps.
Tightening torque: 8.31 - 10.5 ft. lbs. (11.2 - 14.2 Nm, 1.15 - 1.45 kg-m)


Crankshaft Main Caps





Tighten main bearing cap bolts according to the following procedure:
Tighten bolts in order shown
Tightening torque: 40 - 43 ft. lbs. (54 - 59 Nm, 5.5 - 6.0 kg-m)


Connecting Rod Caps

Install connecting rod caps, aligning marks made previous to disassembly and torque to specification.
Tightening torque: 22 - 24 ft. lbs. (29 - 34 Nm, 3.0 - 3.5 kg-m)


Crankshaft Pulley

Install timing belt guide plate and crankshaft pulley.
Tightening torque: 9.0 - 12.6 ft. lbs. (12.3 - 17.2 Nm, 1.3 - 1.8 kg-m)


Crankshaft Gear

Tightening torque: 79.6 - 86.6 ft. lbs. (108 - 118 Nm, 11.0 - 12.0 kg-m)


Oil Pump

Oil pump assembly:
Tightening torque: 14 - 19 ft. lbs. (19 - 25 Nm, 1.9 - 2.6 kg-m)

Oil pump cover:
Tightening torque: 4.3 - 6.5 ft. lbs. (5.9 - 8.8 Nm, 0.6 - 0.9 kg-m)
