Door Lock Cylinder: Service and Repair
Removal1. Disconnect negative battery cable.
2. Remove door trim.
3. Remove one screw on pull handle bracket.
4. Remove pull handle bracket.
5. Remove speaker.
a. Remove three screws on door speaker.
b. Unfasten harness connector from door frame.
c. Pull out speaker and disconnect connectors
Note: Peel plastic moisture barrier off carefully so that it can be reused.
6. Peel off plastic moisture barrier carefully by pulling it away gradually from door frame.
7. Disconnect lock cylinder rod of door lock assembly.
8. Remove two mounting nuts on outside door handle.
9. Remove outside door handle.
10. Remove lock cylinder retainer.
11. Remove lock cylinder.
Installation
1. Install lock cylinder in outside door handle.
2. Install lock cylinder.
3. Position outside door handle as originally positioned.
4. Install two mounting nuts.
Tighten two mounting nuts to 61 - 87 lb-in (7 - 10 N.m, 70 - 100 kg-cm)
5. Connect lock cylinder rod of door lock assembly.
6. Install plastic moisture barrier.
a. Fasten plastic moisture barrier.
b. Route electrical harness connector through plastic moisture barrier.
c. Pull out remote control rod for inside door handle through plastic moisture barrier.
7. Install speaker with three mounting screws.
8. Install door pull handle bracket with one mounting screw.
9. Install door trim. Refer to "Trim".
10. Connect negative battery cable.
