Amanti Premium Infinity Audio CD Player Operation

This bulletin provides information on the 6-disc CD player operation of the Premium Infinity Audio system used in some Amanti models.

The CD loading procedure for the Premium Infinity Audio system with the 6-disc CD player is similar to the "Sorento Premium Delphi CD Player" but different than the CD loading procedure in other Kia audio systems. If the loading procedure is not followed, damage to the CD player may occur.

Please make certain that dealership service and sales staff are familiar with the CD player loading procedure described in this bulletin.





From 7/20/04 production, an adhesive warning label is attached to the face of the Premium Infinity Audio unit to inform customers that the LOAD button must be depressed to load CD discs. Do not remove this label during PDI. Make certain that the CD player loading procedure is explained to the customer during new vehicle delivery and/or following audio service.

The loading procedures for the Premium Infinity Audio system are as follows:

To insert one disc:

1. With the ignition on, press the Load button.

2. The load indicator lights on the audio system will start blinking and the slot indicator light turns on.

3. Insert CD when CD slot is opened and the load indicator light is on.

4. The vacant CD slot of lowest order is automatically selected when loading CDs individually.

To insert multiple discs:

1. With the ignition on, press and hold the Load button for 3+ seconds until all vacant CD load indicators are blinking and the audio system makes a beeping sound.

2. Insert a CD when CD slot opens and the load indicator light is on.

Note:
Do NOT force CDs to load faster than the load indicator light sequencing.

3. Load CD discs one at a time, wait until the load indicator light stops blinking before loading another CD.

4. Vacant slot of lowest sequential order is automatically selected and loaded.

5. Continue this procedure until all slots are filled. After all slots are filled, the last inserted CD will start to play.

The ejection procedures for the Premium Infinity Audio system are as follows:

To eject one disc:

1. Press the Tune/Disc button to select the indicator light for the CD to be ejected.

2. Press the Eject button; the disc will eject and load indicator light will turn off.

To eject all discs:





1. Press and hold the Eject button for 3+ seconds. All audio system load indicator lights will start blinking and then the discs will eject in sequence.

2. After all discs are ejected, load indicator lights will turn off.

Please refer to the vehicle's Audio Owner's Manual for complete audio system information.

CAUTION
If the CD disc loading and ejection procedures are not followed, damage to the CD player could result.

TROUBLE SHOOTING:

Disc Error Message Is Displayed





If the "disc is loaded upside down" error message appears on the display, the CD has loaded into the audio system upside down and must be ejected and reloaded correctly. The audio system will proceed to the next open CD slot.





If you see an error indication in the display while operating the cassette tape CD/CD changer, find the cause and solution in the chart.
