DTC B1379 Side Airbag [Driver] Resistance Too Low

CIRCUIT DESCRIPTION

DTC Detection Condition:

The SAB squib circuit consists of the SRSCM, FSAB and RSAB. It causes the airbag to deploy when the airbag deployment conditions are satisfied. The above DTCs are recorded when the SAB resistance is too high or low in the SAB squib circuit.

Wiring Diagram:

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

1. Preparation
1. Disconnect negative (-) terminal cable from the battery, and wait at least 30 seconds.
2. Disconnect the connector of the FSAB and RSAB module.
3. Disconnect the connector of the SRSCM.

2. Check the FSAB (or RSAB) resistance.

WARNING:
- Never attempt to measure the circuit resistance of the airbag module (squib) even if you are using the specified tester.
- When measure the resistance, must remove the module and install the dummy instead of it.
- Be careful not to connect an ohmmeter to the wrong terminal of SRSCM connector. For example when inspect the DAB module, the PAB module may deploy if you connect an ohmmeter to terminals linked with PAB. To prevent this problem, disconnect the connectors of all modules (DAB, PAB, BPT, FSAB, RSAB, CAB) from wiring harness.

PREPARATION
1. Release the shorting bar on the SRSCM side of the airbag squib side.

2. Connect the dummy (0957A-38200) and dummy adapter (0957A-3FOOO) to the FSAB (or RSAB) harness side connector.

CHECK: Measure the resistance between the FSAB (or RSAB) high (+) and low (-) terminals.

1.8 Ohm <= R <= 4.8 Ohm (FSAB, RSAB)

NG: Repair or replace the harness or the connector between the SRSCM and the PSAB(or RSAB).

OK: Go to step "3".

3. Check the FSAB (or RSAB) squib.

PREPARATION
1. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK.
2. Disconnect the negative (-) terminal cable from the battery, and wait for 30 seconds.
3. Connect the SRSCM connector and the FSAB (or RSAB) connector.

4. Connect the negative (-) terminal cable to the battery, and wait for 30 seconds.

CHECK:
1. Turn the ignition switch to ON, and wait for at least 30 seconds.
2. Clear the malfunction code stored in the memory of the Hi-Scan Pro.
3. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK, and wait for 30 seconds.
4. Turn the ignition switch to ON, and wait for 30 seconds.
5. Using Hi-Scan Pro, check for DTCs.
There is no DTC.

HINT: Codes other than these may be output at this time, but they are not relevant to this procedure.

NG: Replace the FSAB (or RSAB) module.

OK: Check the SRSCM. The Inspection Procedure for RSAB is the same as FSAB
