SUBJECT
Steering Wheel Noise
This bulletin provides information relating to steering wheel noise in some 2002 and 2003MY Spectras. Some Spectra models produced between 9/02 and 2/03 equipped with cruise control (cruise control switches located on steering wheel), may experience a rubbing-type noise when steering wheel is turned. The cause is slight interference between the steering wheel core cover and the turn signal cancel cam. From 3/03 production, dimensions on the steering wheel core cover were changed to eliminate the possibility of noise.
The revised steering wheel core cover has been made available as a service part for vehicles with steering wheel rubbing noise complaints.
Use the procedures in this bulletin to install the revised steering wheel core cover in complaint vehicles.
