Some 2001-2002 Rio and 2002 Rio Cinco models may exhibit a light clunking or 'popping' noise from either (or both) of the rear brake assemblies. This noise typically occurs as the rear brakes are applied at low vehicle speeds, and may be caused by slight movement of the 'fulcrum' or 'pivot' plate that is riveted to the rear brake backing plate assembly. To correct this condition, replace the affected rear brake backing plate assembly(s).
