Center Mounted Brake Lamp: Description and Operation

Exterior Lights:

High-mounted brake light assembly
High-mounted brake light assembly is mounted on package tray assembly. Lens is red and is visible through rear window. Assembly has one bulb. Cover is removed for access to bulb. Light is turned on/off by a brake light switch mounted near brake pedal and actuated by movement of brake pedal.


Circuit Operation

High-mounted stoplights
Battery voltage is always applied from "STOP (15 A)" fuse to the stop light switch. When the brake pedal is depressed, the stop switch closes and battery voltage is applied to the high mounted stop light and both stop lights through the stop light switch. The mentioned lights illuminate for depressing the brake pedal.
