Low fuel warning
Low fuel warning lamp indicates a fuel tank low fuel condition.
With the ignition switch in "ON" position, battery voltage is applied to the fuel low indicator in the instrument cluster through the "METER (10 A)" fuse and the wire "Y", whose circuit is grounded permanently. Ground also is provided to the fuel gauge sender, which acts as a variable resistor. When the fuel in the tank is below a specified level. The resistance rises, and the indicator illuminates to warn the driver.
