Wiper Motor: Testing and Inspection
1. Check for continuity between terminals using an ohmmeter.
2. If continuity is not as specified, replace motor.
3. Check motor's operation by connecting it to a 12 V DC source.
Speed operation check
1. Remove the connector from the wiper motor.
2. Attach the positive (+) lead from the battery to terminal 6 and the negative (-) lead to terminal 3.
3. Check that the motor operates at low speed.
4. Connect the positive (+) lead from the battery to terminal 6 and the negative (-) lead to terminal 2.
5. Check that the motor operates at high speed.
Automatic stop operation check
1. 0perate the motor at low speed.
2. Stop the motor operation anywhere except the off position by disconnecting terminal 5.
3. Connect terminals 5 and 3.
4. Connect the positive (+) lead from the battery to terminal 6 and the negative (-) lead to terminal 1.
5. Check that the motor stops at the off position.
