A/C - DTC P1458/No AC Indicator Lamp

TITLE: AC Switch and Fresh/Recirc Connector Swap

SERVICE TIP:

CONDITION

Combination of the following:
- DTC P1458, although A/C does work
- Indicator light on A/C switch does not illuminate
- Left tail light fuse blown

CAUSE






Connectors C282 and C264 are both identical 6 pin connectors. During dashboard removal or during similar repairs, the connectors can accidentally be cross-connected.

CORRECTIVE ACTION

Remove radio and storage box assembly. Reach in and lift both 6 pin connectors to check them. Use wire colors on both sides of each connector to verify the proper connection. If incorrect, disconnect connector halves, swap, and re-connect, matching wire colors.

Reinstall radio. Replace the LH tail fuse, and clear DTC.
