Steering Wheel Effort
Procedure
1. With vehicle on a hard level surface, turn wheels to straight-ahead position.
NOTICE: Measure after fuming steering wheel to left and right 5 times or more.
2. Attach a pull scale to outermost point of a steering wheel spoke. Then, with wheels in straight-ahead position, check steering effort required to turn steering wheel to left or to right.
3. If measured effort exceeds specification, check following: rotation torque of pinion, rotation torque of each ball joint and seizure of tie-rod ends.
