Removal and Installation






1. Install steering rack into right side of vehicle.

2. Tighten four steering rack nuts.
Tightening torque: 27 - 38 ft. lbs. (37 - 52 Nm)

3. Tighten intermediate shaft bolt. (Refer to Steering Column)
Tightening torque: 13 - 20 ft. lbs. (18 - 26 Nm)

4. Install sealing covers and then tighten four steering column nuts in vehicle.





5. Tighten two universal joint pinch bolts.
Tightening torque: 13 - 20 ft. lbs. (18 - 26 Nm)

6. Connect high-pressure line and return line fittings.

7. Install bracket to pipes and gear box and tighten two bracket bolts and nuts.

8. Install tie-rod into knuckle arm.

9. Tighten nuts and install cotter pins.
Tightening torque: 22 - 33 ft. lbs. (29 - 44 Nm)

10. Install extension bar on transaxle.
Tightening torque: 28 - 38 ft. lbs. (38 - 51 Nm)

11. Install change control rod on transaxle.
Tightening torque: 12 - 16 ft. lbs. (16 - 22 Nm)

12. Install wheels and tires.

13. Lower vehicle.
