Headlamp: Description and Operation
Headlight/Combination Light AssemblyHeadlight/combination light assembly is aerodynamically shaped to match contours of body. Light assembly is attached to body with two bolts.
This light assembly contains three bulbs. One bulb functions as headlight, others as combination light. Headlight bulb is of dual-filament halogen type.
Dual filaments are energized separately to provide high and low beams. An O-ring seals bulb installation to prevent foreign matter from entering headlight assembly. Bulb can be removed/installed from engine compartment without removing light assembly.
Each headlight can be adjusted to move beam up, down, left or right. Two adjustment screws for each headlight assembly are reached through holes in body structure, directly above headlight assembly. Inboard screw adjusts left/right headlight beam, and outboard screw adjusts headlight beam up/down.
Front combination light contains two bulbs. One bulb functions as hazard/turn signal light, and other as position/parking light. Hazard and turn signal bulb filament is controlled by combination switch on steering column.
