Removal





1. Disconnect the negative battery cable from the battery.





2. Remove the three main fuse box bracket bolts on the vehicle and the main fuse box bracket.
3. Remove the hydraulic control unit. Remove the unit connector cover from the unit. Pull up the locker to remove the unit connector.
4. Disconnect the six brake lines (2 inlet and 4 outlet) using a flare nut wrench. Be prepared to catch escaping brake fluid. Temporarily seal open brake fines with plastic caps or equivalent.
5. Using a star wrench, remove two hydraulic control unit bracket bolts on the vehicle, and remove unit bracket.
6. Temporarily seal open brake line-ports with plastic plugs or equivalent.
7. Store the hydraulic control unit in a protective container while it is being serviced.
