CLUTCH PEDAL ADJUSTMENT





Clutch Pedal Height
Inspection
1. Measure distance from front surface of pedal to vehicle carpet.

Pedal height: 7.83 - 8.15 inch (199 - 207 mm)

2. If necessary, adjust pedal height.

Adjustment
1. Disconnect both clutch pedal position switch connectors.
2. Loosen locknut (A) and turn clutch switch V until height is correct.
3. Tighten locknut (A).

Tightening torque: 122 - 156 inch lbs. (14 - 18 Nm, 143 - 183 kg.cm)

4. After adjustment, measure pedal free play.

Clutch Pedal Free Play
Inspection
1. Lightly depress clutch pedal by hand until clutch resistance is felt.
2. If necessary, adjust pedal free play.

Total pedal free play: 0.12 - 0.20 inch (3.0 - 5.0 mm)

Adjustment
1. Loosen locknut (C) and turn push rod (a until pedal free play is correct.
2. Check that the minimum clutch pedal reserve (from front surface of pedal to carpet) is met when pedal is fully depressed.

Minimum clutch pedal reserve: 1.99 inch (50.6 mm)

3. Tighten locknut (C).

Tightening torque: 104 - 147 inch lbs. (12 - 17 Nm, 120 - 170 kg.cm)

4. After adjustment, inspect pedal height.
