Fuel Gauge Sender: Testing and Inspection

Fuel gauge sender unit (part of fuel tank unit)




1. Turn the ignition switch to ON.
2. Disconnect C223 at the fuel tank access cover.
3. Ground the WHT/GRN pin no 7 wire and verify that the fuel gauge reads full.
4. If the gauge does not read full, check/repair wiring and/or fuel gauge.
5. If fuel gauge does read full, go to next step.




6. Remove the fuel tank access cover and disconnect C304 from the fuel tank unit.
7. Measure resistance between pins 2 and 3 of C304 while moving fuel level float from Point E to Point F.
8. If the resistance is not within the specified range, replace the sender unit.
