Clearing Trouble Codes

NOTE: Disconnecting battery will not erase Air Bag Diagnostic Trouble Codes. This procedures can only be performed using the Kia Power Scan Tool equipped with appropriate software.

After Air Bag Deployment Parts Inspection/Replacement
After a collision in which the air bags deploy, there are certain parts that require replacement and some that only
require inspection to ensure their serviceability. The following parts must be replaced following air bag deployment:
- Air Bag Modules

The following parts must be inspected for any damage following an air bag deployment:
- Air Bag Wiring Harness And Connectors
- Steering Wheel
- Steering Column And Wiring
- Clockspring
- Instrument Panel
