Tachometer: Description and Operation

Battery voltage is supplied to the gauges from the METER fuse in the passenger compartment fuse box when the ignition switch is in ON or START.

The tachometer is controlled by a solid state circuit. With the engine running, ignition coil pulses proportional to engine speed are read into the solid state circuits, which output the engine speed in RPM's through the tachometer.
